Council investigating after child injured in Gold Coast dog attack

Council is investigating an alleged dog attack on the Gold Coast that has left a six-year-old boy with significant injuries.

The incident occurred outside a popular cafe in Currumbin on Easter Sunday.

The child reportedly went to pat a dog, with the owner’s permission, when it turned on him around 8am.

The father of the young boy told Newscorp the owner of the animal ran off immediately after the attack without providing their details.

The child was treated at the scene by paramedics for a deep gash to his forearm.

He was then transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
