THE Surfers Paradise Transit Centre and 1600-space Bruce Bishop Car Park will be sold to help the city pay for vital new infrastructure.
The proposal was given the green light when put to a full council vote on Wednesday, despite scores of Gold Coasters opposing the sale.
Eleven councillors voted in favour of the sale just before 5pm, with just three opposing and one abstaining.

The sale of the “aging asset” will help the city pay for a new second bridge to Isle of Capri and fund the new Cultural Precinct at Evandale.
Council’s decision to go ahead with selling the asset comes after more than 80 percent of 500 residents surveyed in an online poll were against the idea.
