Countdown is on until official announcement of host city for 2032 Olympics

Today’s the day we find out whether or not Queensland has secured the 2032 Olympics!

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, Prime Minister and Brisbane Mayor Adrian Schrinner will make their final pitches to the International Olympic Committee today.

The Premier and Brisbane Mayor will be there in person for theirs.


The IOC officials will then take the official vote in Tokyo this evening before their decision is beamed around the world.

The announcement is expected around 6.30 pm AEST, with various ‘Olympic announcement’ celebrations happening around the southeast.

For the Gold Coast, there is a special screen set up at our live site in Kurrawa Park, with the activity and entertainment to start there from 4.00 pm.

While King George Square in Brisbane is also being set up this morning.
