One man critical after two stabbing attacks on the Gold Coast

A COUPLE has been attacked at a tourist park, while a man is in a critical condition following a violent night on the Gold Coast.

Around 1.45am a 60-year-old man and 47-year-old woman woke to be confronted by a knife-wielding duo at a caravan park on the Gold Coast Highway in Palm Beach.

No demands or words were spoken and Police are trying to determine why the couple was targeted.

They were taken to hospital for treatment. The man suffered a cut to his arm and required stitches, while the woman is nursing a cut to her hand.

The offender remains on the run.

Around four hours later in Mermaid Beach, a man suffered critical stab wounds following an argument with another person.

The man, aged in his 20s, ran to a house on Melody Drive and called for help around 5.45am.

It’s believed he had been involved in a fight with someone known to him, on the Gold Coast Highway, near Pacific Fair.
