Couple beaten with butt of gun in NSW home invasion

A man and a woman ages in their 50s have reportedly been beaten with the butt of a gun during a terrifying home invasion in Sydney’s west.

The couple were attacked after two men burst into their Pine Road home in Auburn at around 7.30pm last night.

Police said initial investigations suggested one of the men was armed with a gun described as being similar to a shotgun.


The intruders allegedly made demands for cash before assaulting the couple with the gun and fleeing.

The 59-year-old woman was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Concord Hospital with non-life-threatening facial injuries.

Her 59-year-old husband was also injured. He was taken to the same hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The two intruders men were last seen getting into a light blue or green coloured sedan, described as being similar to a late 90s model Toyota Camry, which was being by a third man on Pine Road.

A crime scene was established at the house and examined by forensics overnight.

Detectives are investigating and are urging anyone who knows the whereabouts of the men or the car to not approach, but to contact triple zero (‘000’) immediately.

Police say they are investigating whether the incident was targeted.
