Couple charged after brandishing gel blaster gun in Logan

A man and woman have been charged with a number of weapons and drug offences after brandishing what looked like a gun at people in Logan.

Police were called to Springwood around 10.30pm last night, after members of the public spotted the man waving around the weapon inside a Holden Commodore in the car park of a fast-food restaurant on the M1.

The vehicle then fled the scene, with officers tracking it to Slacks Creek where a search of the car allegedly uncovered a gel blaster and dangerous drugs.

A 28-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, both from Waterford West, were arrested at the scene.

The man has since been charged with one count each of going armed so as to cause fear and possess dangerous drugs.

While the woman has been charged with one count of possessing unauthorised and prohibited explosives namely fireworks and four drug offenses.

Both have been granted police bail to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court in July.
