A man and a woman have been arrested after they robbed and brutally assaulted an elderly man in his Forster home overnight.
Around 10.30pm yesterday Thursday 19 November 2015, emergency services were called to a property on Helen Street after residents reported hearing a man screaming.
Police attended the scene and located an injured man inside a home on the street. The man, aged 67, was taken to hospital for treatment of a number of injuries, including: fractures to his face, back and ribs; cuts; and, internal injuries.

After conducting a canvass of the area, police arrested a 40-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman nearby.
They were taken to Forster Police Station and charged with Robbery in company causing grievous bodily harm; and, Cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both were refused bail to appear in Taree Local Court today.
In court, police will allege the man and the woman assaulted the 67-year-old at his Helen Street home, before stealing cash and a mobile phone.
