Couple charged over public sex romp

A MAN and a woman have been arrested and charged after they were allegedly busted having sex on the back seat of a public bus in Lake Macquarie.

The man, 23, and woman, 31, boarded the bus together at Charlestown shortly before 10am on Friday, March 29.

Police said the randy couple from Windale made their way to the back of the bus where, at some point during the trip, they “became engaged in sexual activity” on the back seat.

Upon witnessing the mid-morning romp, police said the bus driver stopped the bus and ordered the couple off.

Not happy with the interruption, it’s alleged the pair became aggressive, with the man spitting at the driver, before getting off the bus at Warners Bay.

The couple then allegedly tried boarding a second bus a short time later but were refused by the driver who police say had been alerted to the earlier incident.

Both the man and woman allegedly became aggressive again before the man tried tearing the windscreen wipers off the front of the bus.

Following inquiries, the man was yesterday arrested by officers from Morisset Police Transport Command and taken to Belmont Police Station for questioning.

He has since been charged with affray, common assault, intimidation, offensive conduct and malicious damage.

The 23-year-old was remanded in custody overnight and due to front Toronto Local Court today.

His 31-year-old female companion was issued a future court appearance notice for offensive conduct and incite to the commission of crimes.

She is due to front the same court Tuesday, May 14.
