Couple escapes burning Logan home in suspected arson attack
UPDATE 8:06AM | Police have revealed they are investigating a suspicious fire at a residence at Tanah Merah in the early hours of Friday morning.
Around 12.15am police were called to a fire at a Nandala Drive house.
They saw smoke coming from a bedroom in the house and forced their way inside.
They found a 57-year-old man and 55-year-old woman inside.
The Police Officers tried to extinguish the fire but couldn’t.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze but not before it caused extensive damage to a bedroom and smoke damage throughout the house.
No one was injured in the incident.
A 30-year-old man was arrested nearby. Nine News reports the man is their son and he is currently in Logan Hospital after complaining of chest pains.
EARLIER 7:01AM | A couple has narrowly escaped from their burning home at Tanah Merah on Friday morning.
The property on Nandala Drive went up in flames a little after midnight. Nine News reports the fire started after neighbours heard some people arguing.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said two people were checked and were given the all clear.
