A couple aged in their 50s have been killed after the van they were travelling in was crushed by a fuel tanker on the Warrego Highway west of Brisbane.
The accident happened in the westbound lanes of the highway at North Ipswich just before 8am on Saturday.
Police said an eastbound prime mover lost control in the wet weather and jackknifed, causing it to travel across a median strip and into the path of an oncoming van towing a trailer.

The 57-year-old male driver of the van and his 57-year-old female passenger, both from Jimboomba, died at the scene.
It’s believed they were husband and wife.
Fortunately, the fuel tanker was empty at the time of the crash.
The 42-year-old male truck driver was transported to Ipswich Hospital with minor injuries and suffering from shock.
