Couple steal trolley full of meat at knifepoint, Gold Coast

A man and woman are on the run this morning after stealing a whole trolley full of meat at knifepoint yesterday.

The pair filled the trolley at a food store along Oakey Creek Road in Coomera around 4.20 pm on Sunday, before walking out into the car park without paying.

Police report that they then left the trolley to go get the car when an employee from the store ran out to try and retrieve the products.

The man and woman then returned to confront the employee and even whipped out a knife and threatened them.

The employee released the trolley before the man and woman loaded the meat into a car and drove off.

They remain at large this morning and police are now investigating.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.

Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

Police are also looking into a grocery store robbery in the early hours of Monday morning, where three men stole a number of cigarettes.
