Couple to front court after toddler ingested ice, NSW
A man and woman are set to front court today, after a toddler in their care allegedly ingested the drug ice.
Police were notified of a 16-month-old boy who’d been admitted to Wollongong Hospital after ingesting an unknown substance back in September.
Toxicology tests revealed that the substance was methylamphetamine.
Detectives then executed a search warrant at a home at Dapto, where they seized a small amount of the drug.
After extensive inquiries, a man and a woman, both ages 30 and known to the child were arrested and charged on October 30.
They were both issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for take action that results in health/physical damage, and self-administer/attempt self-administer prohibited drug.
The pair are due to appear at Port Kembla Local Court today.
The toddler has since been released from hospital, and alternate care arrangements have been made.
