Courteous Gold Coast bus driver attacked

A COURTEOUS bus driver has been punched in the face and robbed by two teenage boys in Southport.

It’s understood the two boys boarded the bus near the Gold Coast University Hospital about 1.45am on Friday and asked the driver if they could exchange some money.

Speaking to myGC, a Queensland Police spokeswoman said the courteous driver, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, agreed to help the boys but was attacked in the process.

“The driver has produced the cash and the teens have stolen the money,” the police spokeswoman said.

It’s alleged the boys snatched the money and punched the driver in the face before running away.

Police attended the scene and tried looking for the teens, but they could not be found.

The driver sustained minor facial injuries.
