Melbourne singer songwriter Courtney Barnett has been nominated for a whopping eight ARIA Awards.
Barnett, who was given the ARIA award for Best Cover Art at a ceremony in Sydney on Wednesday.
The singer songwriter was nominated for Album of the Year, Best Australian Live Act, Best Breakthrough Artist, Best Independent Release, Best Female Artist, Best Rock Album, Best Video.

She told the crowd she was very surprised her own drawning took out the Best Cover award this morning.
“I didn’t think that I would be winning an ARIA for my artwork that I drew with a felt-tip pen on a piece of printer paper,” Barnett said as she accepted the award on Wednesday.
“I kind of thought Pond with Ben Montero would win this one,” she added.
Barnett drew an old chair for the cover of her debut album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit.
She is now most nominated artist for the main ceremony in November.
Other artists with multiple nominations include Jarryd James, Vance Joy, Tame Impala, Hermitude and Conrad Sewell.
