It seems the world could be on the brink of a coronavirus vaccine, with the American company Pfizer claiming it’s onto something.
They’ve reported their vaccine is now 90 percent effective, following phase three of their trials.
The trial results involved more than 43,000 people, and delivered better results than expected with no serious side effects.

Pfizer’s chief executive Albert Bourla says the results have been very encouraging.
“We are reaching this critical milestone in our vaccine development program at a time when the world needs it most with infection rates setting new records, hospitals nearing over-capacity and economies struggling to reopen.”
If the vaccine proves effective, Australia will be one of the first countries to acquire it, with the federal government locking in a deal with Pfizer recently.
It’s understood the company will now spend another three weeks putting together safety data, before handing the vaccine to regulators for approval.
