Coward punch victim dies in hospital in Brisbane

A man charged over a coward punch attack at a KFC north of Brisbane has had his charge upgraded to murder after a man died in hospital.

Police say 32-year-old Conrad Joseph Carter knocked out the 50-year-old man in the car park of the fast foot outlet in Morayfield on Wednesday night.

But it’s also alleged that he kept assaulting the older man as he lay on the ground, repeatedly stomping on his head.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries but died on Thursday afternoon.

Conrad was remanded in custody and charged with grievous bodily harm, but police have since upgraded the charges to murder.  He will face Court again on Friday.
