CRACKDOWN: Major police blitz targets drug supply in Surfers Paradise

Police have conducted a major operation on the Gold Coast overnight, targeting the supply of dangerous drugs on the glitter strip.

Operation Alpo ran from 9.00pm until midnight on Saturday and saw officers swarm the nightclub precinct in Surfers Paradise.

It was a joint operation involving officers from the Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrols, Gold Coast District, Public Safety Response Team and Brisbane dog-squad.


A number of party-goers were questioned and searched by police throughout the night.

A Queensland police spokesperson told myGC it’s not yet known if anyone was arrested or charged during the three hour operation.
