Craig Field guilty of Manslaughter
Former NRL player Craig Field has been found guilty of the one-punch killing of a cattle farmer at a pub in 2012.
The former South Sydney rugby league captain was accused of murdering Tweed cattle farmer Kelvin Kane outside a hotel in July 2012.
A Supreme Court jury in Lismore today found him not guilty of murder, but guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Mr Kane was found lying unconscious outside a pub at Kingscliff, on the NSW north coast.
Field was arrested at the scene.
Justice Elizabeth Fullerton has revoked Field’s bail and he has been taken into custody.
A sentencing hearing date will be set next Monday in Sydney where bail will again be reviewed.
