Crane collapses, crashes into South Bank building
A crane has collapsed and crashed into the Griffith University building at South Bank.
The incident occurred on Grey Street in South Brisbane around 11.15am.
The Queensland Ambulance High Acuity Response Unit is at the scene along with four Qld Fire and Emergency crews who are helping to rescue the crane driver from the cabin. He is believed to be okay.
Miraculously, all students inside the Griffith University College of Art building escaped unharmed and have since been evacuated.
The intersection of Grey and Tribune Street in Southbank has been blocked.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area.
