Crash brings motorway to a halt

EMERGENCY services are on scene of a multi-vehicle traffic accident on the Pacific Motorway at Helensvale this afternoon. (PICTURE: Supplied)

Initial information suggests a truck and two cars collided in the southbound lanes near Movie World (Exit 60) at around midday on Sunday.

Delays are being experienced with traffic already having banked back past Dreamworld at Upper Coomera.

A number of lanes were closed to traffic as authorities worked to clear the scene. Police have confirmed the lanes have since re-opened however heavy congestion remains.

There have been no reports of any serious injuries.

Motorists are advised to take care, and make use of local service roads or delay their journey if possible.
