UPDATE: Police have named the four young people who died in a horror smash north of Ballina overnight.
They are Jessica Camidge, 22, of Ewingsdale, Richard Wells, 19, of West Ballina, William Manton, 20, of Ballina; and Samantha Enright, 17, a high school student from Skennars Head.
It’s thought Ms Camidge was driving the Hyundai Sedan around 1.20 this morning, when she tried to overtake a B-double truck on double yellow lines.

Tragically the car left the road and crashed into a tree, where all four died at the scene.
EARLIER: FOUR people have died after their car veered off the road and crashed into a tree on the Pacific Highway north of Ballina.
Police were called to the scene at 1:20am on Wednesday to find the crushed Hyundai Sedan.
All four occupants in the vehicle died at the scene.
The Highway’s now expected to be closed for a few hours around that area.
Motorists heading to the Tweed Region are being urged to use Bangalow Road and the Bruxner Highway via Lismore as an alternative route.
