Young man critically injured in motorbike crash dies in hospital: Police

A YOUNG man who was critically injured in a motorbike south of Wollongong has sadly died in hospital.

It happened at Warilla on Monday night.

Police said the 19-year-old was riding west along Lake Entrance Road around 8.35pm when he collided with a Honda Odysey Wagon travelling in the opposite direction.


The rider sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to St George Hospital for treatment.

Sadly, police released a statement on Wednesday morning, confirming that the young man had succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital.

The 44-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Honda was not physically injured in the crash.

She was taken to Shellharbour Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
