Crews contain Wongawallan bushfire

A BUSHFIRE at burning at Wongawallan has been contained, thanks to the tireless efforts of our rural firefighters.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews were first called to the area of Welches Rd and Pinnacle Dr at around 6pm on Saturday.

Eight rural and one auxiliary crew completed back burning to contain the blaze and provided property protection on Waterfall Drive.

CREWS PROTECT HOMES FROM PACIFIC PINES BUSHFIRE

By 9pm Saturday, the fire was approximately 150m by 200m and burning in a north west direction.

Rural firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and were slowly being released on Sunday morning.

As a result of the fire, there will be smoke in the area for a number of days.

Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed.

If you suffer from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. IF smoke is affecting the road, drive to condition.
