Crews make light work of unit blaze, Gold Coast

Emergency services have rushed to a unit fire in Varsity Lakes overnight.

It broke out at an private address on Lake Orr Drive just after midnight.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services report the unit was well involved when they arrived around 12.20am.


They took just minutes to get the blaze under control, before performing atmospheric monitoring and usual ventilation checks.

They left the scene not even an hour later.

Paramedics also attended, though remained on standby only, with no patients reported.

It’s understood fire investigators will not be returning to the scene today.
