Boy burnt in fierce building blaze at Miami

EMERGENCY services are on scene of a fierce building fire along the Gold Coast Highway at Miami this afternoon.

It’s understood the blaze first broke out in a private unit sometime just before 4.30pm.

Three fire crews are on scene with 12 firefighters currently in action – some equipped with breathing apparatus.


An ambulance spokesperson has confirmed paramedics are treating a 16-year-old boy at the scene for minor burns.

Fire fighters are now conducting a final search of the premises, with paramedics on standby.

The size of the fire or full extent of the damage caused remains unknown.

Motorists have been advised to proceed through the area with caution as smoke affects visibility.
