UPDATE @ 9.15 AM | Police have now confirmed that they’re not treating the discovery of a woman’s body in a charity bin as suspicious.
A member of the public found the body in a bin behind the Stocklands Shopping Centre in Burleigh.
Police were called to the scene around 7.00 am, where a crime scene was quickly declared.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called in to help cut the bring and remove the body.
Investigators now say they’re not treating the incident as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Reports at the scene suggest that the woman – believed to be aged in her 30s – may have become stuck in the bin, and then passed away.

EARLIER @ 8.00AM | A crime scene has been declared in Burleigh Heads this morning following the discovery of a woman’s body.
It’s understood a member of the public made the discovery, finding the body in a charity bin behind the Stocklands Shopping Centre in Burleigh Heads.
Police were called in just after 7.00 am, where they have since declared a crime scene.
There’s a heavy police presence, with other emergency services including the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service also called in.

A significant area of the car park near Spotlight has now been cordoned off.
Investigations are currently underway.
