Crime scene established after nine houseboats destroyed in ferocious fire

INVESTIGATIONS are underway after nine houseboats were destroyed by fire in the NSW Riverina district overnight.

Just before 6.30pm, emergency services were called to a marina on Perricoota Road at Moama, following reports a house boat was engulfed in flames.

Fire crews arrived on scene and managed to contain and extinguish the blaze, however the fire had already spread so quickly a further eight boats were also destroyed.


Luckily, no one was injured.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the blaze are continuing.
