Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of tax evasion – allegedly defrauding Spanish authorities of $A21.8 million between 2011 and 2014,
Spain’s prosecutor’s office says it has filed a lawsuit against Ronaldo – accusing the Portuguese player of knowingly using a “business structure” in 2010 to hide his income from his image rights.
The lawsuit is based on a report sent to the prosecutor’s office from Spain’s tax agency.

The world’s highest-paid sports star has previously said he was not worried about tax investigations as he has nothing to hide.
In December, leaked documents suggested that Ronaldo had avoided tax on income allegedly held in offshore accounts.
