Critical incident investigation launched following deadly crash in NSW
A critical incident investigation has been launched after a man was killed in a crash near Grafton overnight.
The accident occurred just after 8.40pm, when police were called to Lillypool Road, Bom Bom, after receiving information about a concern for welfare.
“Upon arrival at the location, officers noticed a vehicle matching the description of a car they were concerned about travelling in the opposite direction,” Police said in a statement.
“Police did a u-turn as the other vehicle drove away. A short time later police located the vehicle which had crashed into a tree.”
The male driver, whose age is unknown, was trapped and died at the scene.
A critical incident team from the Northern Region are currently investigating all circumstances surrounding the incident.
