Critically injured crash victim flown to Gold Coast hospital

A MAN has been airlifted to a Gold Coast hospital in a critical condition after crashing his car into a fence in Gatton.

The 33-year-old man sustained serious facial lacerations and a suspected head injury in the accident which happened shortly before 8.30pm on Saturday.

The Gold Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to pick up the man from Gatton Showgrounds.

He was flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
