Customers and staff at Logan pub held at gunpoint during hold-up

Staff and customers at a Logan pub have been threatened at gunpoint during a terrifying armed hold-up overnight.

Queensland Police say a masked couple stormed the Queenslander Hotel at Waterford West around 1.40am on Thursday.

The woman sat in the gaming room while the man walked behind the bar and into the back office where he stole a 24-year-old female employee’s backpack.

When she confronted him, he pulled out a gun and forced the woman and another 29-year-old female employee to lock the front doors.

As they did, two customers entered the hotel and they were also forced into the gaming room by the armed man.

The man then proceeded back to the office with the two female employees while the woman remained in the gaming room with the customers.

The patrons were quick to realise the woman in the gaming room as not armed and managing to sneak out to contact police.

Meanwhile, the armed man ordered the workers to remove cash from the tills, safe and cash redemption terminal.

The two thieves then fled the scene with a significant amount of cash in the stolen backpack.

They were last seen in a red Mazda 323 hatchback.
