Cy Walsh was ‘mentally incompetent’ at time of father’s death, prosecutors say
Cy Walsh was mentally incompetent at the time of his fathers death, the prosecution has agreed.
The murder trial for the 27-year-old continued in an Adelaide court today, more than a year after he was arrested and charged with allegedly stabbing his father, former Adelaide Crows coach Phil Walsh, to death.
He pleaded not guilty to the murder citing mental incompetence, a plea prosecutors have today accepted.
Phil Walsh was found dead inside the family home at Somerton Park in Adelaide on Friday July 3, 2015.
The hearing will begin in September.
