Cyclist hospitalised after hitting wallaby in Gold Coast hinterland

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after they collided with a kangaroo while out on their morning ride.

Emergency services were called to Repeater Station Road in Springbrook around 7.00 am following reports of the incident.

They assessed the cyclist at the scene briefly, before transporting them to the hospital for further treatment.


They’re understood to be in a stable condition at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The Queensland Ambulance Service did not confirm the person’s age or gender.

The condition of the wallaby is also not known.
