Cyclist killed just metres away from two car crash at Sydney intersection

INVESTIGATIONS are underway after a cyclist was hit and killed by a car at Centennial Park this morning.

The man, aged in his late 20s, was struck at the intersection of Moore Park Road and Queen Street at 7.20am.

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital where he later died.

The fatal accident happened just half an hour after two cars collided at the exact same intersection.

The drivers of both vehicles were treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area with major delays being experienced.

Police say a crime scene has been established and they’re investigating the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
