Cyclist rushed to hospital after colliding with ute

A YOUNG cyclist has been rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after he was struck by a car on the Gold Coast.

It’s believed the 25-year-old man was riding his bike near the corner of Brady and Doreen Drive in Coombabah when he collided with a ute around midday.

Witnesses say the man was “severely hurt” after he left his driveway and rode into the path of the vehicle.

A number of teenage boys assisted until paramedics arrived.

He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital by ambulance in a serious but stable condition, followed closely by an intensive care paramedic.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are ongoing.
