Gold Coasters are being encouraged to purchase some gorgeous golden daffodils or daffodil merchandise today to help support locals affected by cancer.
Cancer Council Queensland CEO Ms Chris McMillan said Daffodil Day is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, and one that all locals should get behind.
“We’re calling on all Queenslanders to fight back against all cancers by making a donation, wearing a pin, and buying fresh daffodils to help us make hope bloom,” Ms McMillan said.

“Daffodil Day is a day to celebrate our achievements over the past 31 years and continue the fight for a cancer free future.
“If every Queenslander donated just $1 – we would have $4 million more to invest in world-leading research and clinical trials for people from across this great state.
“More Queenslanders are surviving a cancer diagnosis today than at any other time in history – but we have more work to do to defeat this disease.”
Cancer Council Queensland is hoping to sell more than 100,000 daffodils on the Gold Coast this Daffodil Day to help brighten the lives of Queenslanders affected by cancer.
To help them reach this goal, locals are being urged to visit one of the many Daffodil Day stalls located right across the city.
