Dami Im responds to Eurovision controversy

Eurovision runner-up Dami Im has responded to claims she was robbed of victory at the song contest.

Earlier this week it was reported that competition winner Ukraine should have been disqualified as their song, 1944, was three years old and had been performed in public previously. Had they been disqualified, Im would have been crowned the winner of the competition.

During an appearance on Sunrise this morning, the singing star didn’t seem bothered by the controversy. “In the end, I came second and that’s still much better than I ever imagined myself to do at, you know, the biggest stage in the world”

“So I’m still very, very grateful for the opportunity to have been there.

“I have this new opportunity that’s opened up for me and I have got all this support from Australia.

“That was everything for me. So I’m not complaining about anything.”
