Daniel Morcombe’s killer Brett Peter Cowan has suffered wounds to his neck and ear after reportedly being attacked in prison.
A statement by Queensland Corrective Services, published by 7NEWS, confirmed the 48-year-old prisoner suffered “superficial” wounds after being “assaulted” by a fellow inmate.
The statement said the incident occurred sometime this morning, in a common area of Secure Unit 3 at Wolston Correctional Centre.

It’s understood Cowan escaped serious injury, however it’s not the first time the convicted child killer has been targeted behind bars.
The most recent incident has now been referred to the Queensland Police Corrective Services Investigation Unit.
