Daniel Morcombe’s killer rushed to hospital

UPDATE – The prisoner believed to be responsible for throwing boiling water on Brett Cowan on Friday morning, has now been taken to hospital.

His injuries aren’t suspicious and were sustained later in the day.

EARLIER – Daniel Morcombe’s killer has been rushed to hospital after being brutally attacked in prison.


The Courier Mail’s Chief Crime reporter Kate Kyriacou has tweeted another inmate hurled boiling water over Brett Peter Cowan at the Wolston Correctional Centre on Friday morning.

Paramedics confirmed they were called to the prison in Wacol around 9.30am after receiving reports a man in his 40’s had suffered scalding to his body from boiling water.

He has been taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment to burns.

Cowan was found guilty of murdering Sunshine Coast schoolboy Daniel Morcombe in 2014.
