Dashcam footage needed after pedestrian killed on motorway

A YOUNG DRIVER has been left shaken, after hitting and killing a man who was walking along a busy highway in the NSW Southern Highlands.

The 21-year-old has told police, she was driving a Kia sedan north on the Hume Motorway in Yerrinbool, about 2km south of the Sierra Street overpass, when she struck a man.

She believes he had been walking along the roadway when the incident happened, around 11pm on Monday.


The woman pulled over at the Picton Road exit and phoned Police.

She then attended the Narellan Police Station, before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended the scene of the crash and commenced inquiries.

They confirmed, the man died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
