Dawn’s Day: Community picnic to celebrate retiring Councillor Crichlow

Various community groups on the Gold Coast will be coming together weekend, to celebrate a beloved councillor.

Division 6 Councillor Dawn Crichlow will be retiring at the end of this council term (next year), after nearly 30 years in local government.

This Sunday November 17, everyone is welcome to come and say thanks to Dawn, and to celebrate her colourful contributions to the Gold Coast community.

It’ll be held at the Broadwater Parklands from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

Fellow Councillor William Owen-Jones says Dawn’s support to her community was ‘tireless’.

“There are no less than 99 local groups within Division 6 which enjoy Dawn Crichlow’s patronage. These groups span a wide range of interests from music, sport, historical societies and neighbourhood watches to cultural pursuits,” his Facebook post reads.

“Music will be provided throughout the day by the Gold Coast Country Music Club and the Gold Coast Brass Band, both of which are nurtured by Dawn,” his Facebook post reads.
