Debate on race hate to continue today
The Senate is due to resume sitting this morning following a marathon session overnight debating changes to the Racial Discrimination Act.
The Government’s proposed new wording of section 18c has been voted down.
It failed to remove the words offend, humiliate and insult and replace them with harass and intimidate.
It’s not clear if debate will resume on proposed changes to the Human Rights Commission’s complaints process or move on to company tax cuts.
