Delivery delays as StarTrack workers walk off the job Australia-wide

Aussies waiting on a delivery this week might have to wait a bit longer, with staff at a popular courier company striking.

StarTrack workers nationwide have walked off the job for 24 hours overnight, demanding better job security and pay.

They’re also looking for a limit on outsourcing work to be established.

It comes after a couple of years of record profits for the company, due to increased delivery services during the pandemic.

The Transport Workers Union says they want a meeting with the company to settle a ‘new agreement’.

“Workers are fighting for a reasonable agreement which locks in job security protections and offers fair pay for helping net the company record profits during the pandemic,” a statement from the TWU reads.

“StarTrack remains an industry outlier, after workers at six other major transport companies – including Toll, Global Express and Linfox – recently settled industrial disputes after being presented with fair offers.”
