Delivery driver’s eye socket fractured, nose broken in brutal attack

A DELIVERY driver has been taken to hospital with a fractured eye socket, broken nose and chipped tooth after being brutally bashed on the job in Sydney’s south.

Police said the 27-year-old man was delivering food from a local restaurant to a unit in Narwee when he was attacked on Saturday afternoon.

It’s understood a 21-year-old man at the address started abusing the delivery driver before pushing him out of his unit and onto the street.

That’s when the 21-year-old is alleged to have repeatedly punched the deliver driver in the face, leaving him with significant injuries.

Police were called and arrested the younger man at the scene.

Battered, bruised and bleeding, the delivery driver was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured eye socket, broken nose and a chipped tooth.

His alleged attacker was taken to Kogarah Police Station and formally charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He was released on conditional bail and is due to appear in Sutherland Local Court on June 19.
