Denis Wagner to speak at Gold Coast business function

Gold Coasters will be able to hear from one of Queensland’s most successful businessmen, Denis Wagner, at the first Storyfest Business Lunch of the year next Friday, March 15.

Mr Wagner is one of the co-founders of Wagners and has been involved in the construction materials and infrastructure company since its inception in 1989.

He has been instrumental in developing Wagners into one of the leading construction materials producers in South East Queensland and has also been responsible for most of the construction projects and property developments within Wagners, including the multi-million-dollar Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport.

Storyfest CEO Andrea Lewis said Denis Wagner is a huge coup for the Gold Coast business community.

“The Storyfest Business Lunch has attracted a host of a high-profile and notable guest speakers to the stage over the years, including Peter Greste, Soheil Abedian and Magda Szubanski, and we are thrilled to be able to add Denis Wagner to the line-up,” Ms Lewis said.

“Mr Wagner is one of Queensland’s greatest success stories and we feel he will bring a plethora of valuable and powerful insights to the table next Friday, so we encourage everyone to come along for an inspiring afternoon of discussion and networking.

Wagners started in Toowoomba with a small concrete operation and in the early days of the business, Denis managed the company’s quarrying operations, construction projects and filled the role of managing director for Wagners’ construction materials business in Australia.

The family listed the construction materials and new generation building materials business on the ASX in December 2017 to form the listed entity, Wagners Holding Company Ltd (Wagners).

Wagners is today one of Queensland’s largest construction materials and mining services companies with projects throughout Australia and Overseas.

The family’s private company, Wagner Corporation is focused on infrastructure and property development projects throughout Australia.
