She was put on a short Good Behaviour Bond for smuggling Yorkshire Terriers Pistol and Boo into Australia while Depp was filming Pirates of the Caribbean on the Gold Coast in 2015.
The pair were criticised for their performances in an ‘apology video’ which was broadcast in the courtroom and then made public. Many commented that they looked like they were being held hostage.
On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Depp took a dig at the Deputy Prime Minister.
He adopted a sarcastic tone to describe his dogs as “minuscule, tiny teacup things, clearly dangerous in Australia”.
The Hollywood heart throb said “it seems like one guy in Australia made a big deal out of this”.
Kimmel helped him out with the details saying “Barnaby Joyce is his name”.
To which Depp replied “Barnaby Jones, he looks somehow inbred with a tomato”.
“Its not a criticism. I was a little worried. He just might explode,” he said.
