HOLLYWOOD star Johnny Depp has described Australia’s Immigration Minister as ‘big-gutted’ when asked about the saga surrounding his dogs’ unwelcome visit to the Gold Coast.
Barnaby Joyce’s reaction to accusations, Depp and his wife Amber Heard had smuggled their pooches into the country, made international headlines earlier this year.
At the time, the couple was told to fly their Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, back home to the US or face the prospect of the animals being put down.

Depp and Heard violated quarantine regulations when they failed to go through the necessary quarantine procedures when bringing the pampered pets into Australia while the 52-year-old film the latest instalment in the Pirates of the Carribean franchise.
Ms Heard is due to face Southport court on Monday on charges of illegal importation.
While promoting his new movie Black Mass at the Venice Film Festival, Depp was asked about the international scandal.
“I killed my dogs and ate them under direct orders from some kinda, I dunno, sweaty, big-gutted man from Australia,” he joked.
It’s believed Heard will have a lawyer act on her behalf for Monday’s court date.
