Police are searching through databases of known child sex offenders as they continue to search for clues in the death of schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer.
The 12-year-old’s body was found by fishermen on the banks of the Pimpama River on Thursday night, just days after she was reported missing.
The case is being treated as a homicide.

Police say the last confirmed sighting of Tiahleigh was still 8.10am on 30 October, when she was dropped just down the road from Marsden State High School.
Last night hundreds of people turned out for a candlelight vigil across the road from the school to pay tribute to the young girl.
Many have also left heartfelt messages on the RIP Tiahleigh Palmer Facebook page, which now has over 2000 followers.
Motorists, cyclists or other members of the public who travelled on Chambers Flat Rd or Muchow Rd on 30 October and had a dash cam are urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police would also like to speak to anybody who was in the vicinity of the bridge over the Pimpama River on Kerkin Rd North between 30 October and 6 November.
