THE Queensland Maroons will be giving tonight’s State of Origin game everything they’ve got to avoid the embarrassment of a white wash.
While NSW has already claimed the 2018 series, Queenslanders are hopeful they can send off one of the all-time greats with a win.
Tonight’s match will be Billy Slater’s 31st and final game for the Maroons, with the star fullback announcing his retirement from representative football in May.

The 34-year-old admitted he will be emotional when he takes to the field tonight, but said he just hopes he can give all Queenslanders a result to be proud of.
“I feel super grateful and privileged to have been able to achieve what I’ve been able to achieve,” Slater said.
“Hopefully we can go out there and make it a memorable occasion not just for myself, but also my family and the team.”
Tonight’s match will kick off at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium at 8pm.
