Domestic violence link in GC murder-suicide

From the outside, Gold Coast couple David Lee and Melanie Horner appeared to be loved-up and happy.

However details of their tumultuous relationship are beginning to surface after they were found dead by a friend at Mr Lee’s Burleigh Waters home late Monday afternoon.

Police yesterday released a statement saying Melanie’s death was being treated as suspicious, but David’s death was non-suspicious.

If so, her death will be the third domestic violence related murder on the Gold Coast in less than two months.

Friends of the couple have started breaking their silence, revealing the pair had a “volatile” relationship.

Police investigations are still underway as they try to piece together the circumstances of the tragedy for the Coroner.
